Steve's path in construction began at Bradley University, where he earned his degree in construction management. Instead of heading straight into an office role, he chose to build his career from the ground up—literally—by becoming a carpenter. Over the next 35 years, he worked in the field with steadily increasing responsibility, gaining a depth of practical knowledge that continues to shape his work today.

His expertise and leadership eventually led him into the office as a project manager, where he brought decades of hands-on experience to the role. In 2020, Steve took on the company’s safety program, making it his primary focus. He also oversees IT operations and manages a variety of special projects that support the company’s broader needs.

Steve’s long history in the field is a tremendous asset to Hein’s teams. He works closely with foremen and superintendents, helping mentor and develop the next generation of leaders—ensuring that the knowledge, skill, and craftsmanship he built over his career continue to strengthen the company’s future.
